Garlic Artichokes
Hey guys! Surprise, a second meatless meal! Although, it's more so a snack, if paired with a salad or small side, it COULD be a meal. So, I present Boiled Artichokes with Garlic Butter. However, I got so excited to eat that I forgot to show what my butter looked like, but it's pretty easy!
INGREDIENTS
Artichokes
Butter
Garlic powder
DONE
STEPS
First, rinse the artichoke well and cut off the dry stem. You wanna keep most of the stem on because it's just like the Heart, the best part!
Next, get a large pot of boiling water. It needs to be fairly large because you want the artichokes to be submerged.
Now, my artichokes were big and buoyant, so I actually ended up putting a bowl in to help keep them underwater. However, be so freaking careful! It's hard to get it in there on top of it, and even harder to get out. So once you decide to get it out, the artichokes better be done.
I, unfortunately, removed it before they were done enough, so I had to wait longer, and they still ended up not being quite done enough. But they were still delicious. The way to KNOW they're done, is when the leaves are able to be pulled out with ease, no resistance, or you can pierce a knife into the heart and if it's easy in and out, they're done.
GARLIC BUTTER
This is so easy.
-Melt butter....add garlic powder
....done. Now, this is up to you, how garlicky you like it, or less, you can add parsley or anything you'd like. And that's it.
Tomorrow, a normal Meatless Monday will be up! ENJOY!
